About the Position
The Research Assistant will support ART Lab’s research, monitoring and evaluation, data management, documentation, and consultancy assignments. The selected candidate will work closely with researchers, consultants, project teams, and field teams to ensure quality research support, proper documentation, and timely completion of assigned tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Support research design, study planning, and preparation of research tools
- Assist in questionnaire development, interview guides, FGD guidelines, and data collection formats
- Coordinate data collection activities with field teams and project staff
- Support data cleaning, coding, data management, and basic analysis
- Assist in qualitative and quantitative research activities
- Conduct desk reviews, literature reviews, and background research
- Prepare meeting notes, field notes, summaries, and project documentation
- Support report writing, formatting, presentation preparation, and data visualization
- Assist in proposal development, concept notes, and technical documentation
- Maintain regular communication with team members and provide timely task updates
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Science, Development Studies, Economics, Statistics, Public Health, Education, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Business, English, Data Science, or any relevant discipline
- Strong interest in research, monitoring and evaluation, data, and development-sector work
- Good writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Good command of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Experience in research, fieldwork, data collection, documentation, or project support will be preferred
Preferred Skills
- Experience with KoboToolbox, ODK, SurveyCTO, Google Forms, or similar survey tools
- Basic knowledge of SPSS, Stata, Excel, Power BI, R, Python, or other data analysis tools
- Experience in qualitative data collection, including interviews, KIIs, and FGDs
- Understanding of monitoring and evaluation, baseline studies, endline studies, impact studies, or needs assessments
- Ability to prepare professional reports, summaries, presentations, and communication materials
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
